Jerry Green, President United Steelworkers Local 2599
Jerry Green is a member of the United Steelworkers for the last 36 years. Green
started his Union career as an Assistant Grievance Committee Representative in
1991 as an employee at Bethlehem Steel. Green was elected a Full time Grievance
Representative in 1994 handling massive grievances daily. After an amalgamation
of Steelworker Locals in 1998, Green was elected President of USW Local 2599 in
2000. President Green in addition to his normal presidential duties also engages
in contract negotiation, grievance handlings, legislative and is a Locals rapid
response coordinator to name a few. President Green holds a paralegal degree
from PSU and successfully completed Arbitration studies at George Meany Center
in Md.
